Cabbage is a wonder vegetable: Light, versatile, nutritious, and low in carbs. Cabbage recipes that can be served as main dishes, side dishes, or salads. While we all know coleslaw and cabbage soups, there's much more to our favorite cruciferous vegetable.
1. Cabbage and ground beef dinner

This is a classic in our family, a one-pot, uncomplicated dish we can have ready quickly. Juicy, flavorful ground beef with onions, the spices in curry powder, and shredded cabbage crisp taste. A low calories and carbohydrates cabbage stir fry fit for any day.
2. Papaya salad with cabbage
Inspired by Asian flavors, the combination of flavors and texture of papaya and shredded green cabbage work great in this summer-friendly salad with a sweet and sour touch. If I feel like changing the flavors a bit, I drizzle it with some lime juice (or lemon juice) for some extra Vitamin C.
3. Cooked red cabbage
Red cabbage is such a spectacular-looking vegetable, and I love it combined with bacon in this side dish that goes great with grilled pork sausage or corned beef. With just a few ingredients no much more exotic than salt and black pepper, you can have it at the table in no time.
4. Cabbage, beef, and rice roll
Several countries count cabbage rolls in their national dish roll, but this time I am sharing the Dominican "niƱo envuelto" (swaddled baby). These cabbage leaves rolls stuffed with ground beef and rice, and bathed in tomato sauce, are the descendants of the Middle Eastern malfouf mahshi.
5. Carrot and cabbage slaw
This classic carrot and cabbage slaw is one of my favorite salad recipes year-round, and more so in the summer when it becomes the perfect substitute for the stodgier salads with potatoes we all love. Quick and easy to make, it will be the perfect cook out salad.
6. Vegan braised cabbage
This Caribbean-tasting braised cabbage dish with garlic, cilantro, tomato, and many other great flavors, is a great vegan choice and a classic Dominican dish. This tender-yet-crisp veggie-rich cabbage dish is uncomplicated, light, healthful, and can be ready in a short time.
7. Chimi burgers
Looking for a new and exciting burger to try? Why don't you put together this flavorful chimi burger? With no cheese, it relies on some fried cabbage, a juicy and flavorful patty, and a secret pink sauce for a heavenly burger you'll count among your favorites.
8. Dominican cabbage salad
A very humble salad you'll find in the most modest Dominican eatery, with a signature combination of vegetables, and easy vinaigrette, and based on the thinnest shredded cabbage, it's a healthful choice for everyday meals.
9. Hot dog with cabbage and chips
Assemble your own hot dog party with 4 recipes to please every guest, but here I am featuring the Dominican hot dog with coleslaw and potato chips, a popular street food to end your late-night parties at a street corner car.
