ORANGE LIQUEUR

With the lovely and rich orange flavor and aroma, this lovely orancello, a homemade orange liqueur, is the perfect gentle digestif to end your special meals or as a welcome hostess gift.

– 3 orange – 4 cups vodka, [1 liter] – 2½ cup white sugar, (or brown, see notes}

Ingredients:

Use the oranges for something else, we'll only use the peel.Using a potato peeler, peel the oranges, making the peel as thin as possible to leave behind the white rind.

Step 1:

Mix the vodka and the orange peels. Put in a clean bottle and leave in the refrigerator for 2 weeks.

Step 2:

Strain the vodka with a clean cloth, discard the peels, and set the vodka aside.

Step 3:

Cool to room temperature. Mix the syrup with the vodka and let it sit overnight for any solids to settle at the bottom.In a saucepan, mix 1 cup of water and the sugar and boil over low heat until only a third of the liquid is left.

Step 4:
